Bottega Veneta Just Opened A New Art Program To Celebrate Their 10-Year Anniversary In Brazil
The creative director of Bottega Veneta, Matthieu Blazy, has created an artistic program, ‘The Square’, that has been launching worldwide over the past year. Their first location was in Dubai, which opened in 2022, and a Tokyo site soon after. As a celebration of their 10-year anniversary in Brazil, there will be a new opening in São Paulo, Brazil.
A part of this celebration will be an 11-day agenda that focuses on Bo Bardi, an Italian architect, and how she has implemented Brazilian culture into her own works and life. Bardi is well known across Brazil which is the reason why she is the main star of the show. São Paulo was the chosen location for this new opening because she spent most of her time there until her death in 1992 and it is one of Blazy’s favorite places to visit.
The on-site location will be Bardi’s Casa de Vidro which is surrounded by a beautiful environment filled with trees, bushes, and a long cobblestone walkway. When talking about Casa de Vidro, Blazy said,
“Casa de Vidro is one of my favorite places. It’s a real inspiration to meet here with artists from across generations, across disciplines, and across Brazil to celebrate Lina Bo Bardi’s legacy and the richness of Brazilian culture.”
“Casa de Vidro is one of my favorite places. Bottega Veneta is all about timeless style. With The Square São Paulo, we recognize how Lina’s ideas and aesthetics resonate to this day, always reminding us of the transformative power of design and culture”
Blazy commented on his connection and love for São Paulo.
Bardi has a very unique perspective on architecture and was one of the revolutionists regarding the counterculture. Time is a big part of the new exhibit as it plays with the past, present, and future of her works and how they are a combination of modern and contemporary.
The Square will begin on May 24th and is open to the public starting on May 27th to June 3rd.
