Celebrating Fashion Icons with Harpers Bazaar
What is more New York than Bloomingdales? Harpers Bazaar annual New York Fashion Week Global Icons Party at Bloomingdales.
Harpers Bazaar gala celebrates all image makers who create our favorite looks and shape fashion trends.
Iconic is what the celebration was. Just in time to celebrate both fashion icons and Bloomingdales’ 150th anniversary. The event was broadcasted through a livestream as guests arrived at the 59th Street flagship.
A lavish event that gathered the next generation of artists, athletes, musicians, celebrities and activist who will and are redefining fashion.
Fashion opens dialogues on intellectual conversations about how society and culture are doing moral, environmental and economic wise. So celebrating the people that encourage this flip on the script on how fashion can be looked at should be celebrated. Provocateur fashionistas like Julia Fox encourage us to open our eyes and look at fashion as an agent of ugliness, anti-sexy medium that looks at the clothing for its innovation in cut, or lack thereof, fabric and the way it can hang of the body.
Also the impact this “icons” have isn’t about change but about the way they influence customers and create aspirational trends. Dixie D’Amelio represents a whole generation, Gen-Z, being the generations icon to follow. Breaking cultural stereotypes and boundries through fashion statements like Halima Aden has done.
Among the guest list couldnt be missing the designers, the creators of fashion themselves. Christian Sirino was spotted along friend Drew Barrymore even Cynthia Rowley who has her runway show in a few days made an appearance. I mean wh wouldn’t want to attend?
