DIOR; classiness, femininity and their future…

Following the empowering SS2024 Christian Dior fashion show in Paris it became clear that having a woman creative director really shows. Maria Grazia Chiuri is one of the few female creative directors in the fashion industry. For the show in Paris she presented multiple stereotypes of women preaching that “ I am not only a wife, a mother, a daughter, I am a woman”. The so-called “bewitching” collection was classy as always featuring dark blue-black gowns as seen on the Queen of England Camilla, but at the same time daring, trendy off-one shoulder jumpers, mesh dresses, short shorts, bad-ass leather coats.

Maria Grazia Chiuri brings innovation to the original and classy Dior. She does a big accent on their bags like Lady D, Dior shopping bag and Saddle bag however, she changes them through collections and allows the mood to have an impact on the bags. Just like in their Cruise 2024, the bags are in dark blue colors with tapestry following the themes of Mexico and Frida Kahlo.

Maria shows the importance of having a woman behind the clothes that are created for women. Being the first female creative director of Dior, bringing Dior away from patriarchy became Maria’s goal. Maria is all about simplicity and the beauty of a woman herself. She designs clothes that highlight one’s uniqueness and makes one feel good about herself.

Dior is a French boutique and that has an impact on their clothes, however, their cruise collections move the audience and the clients all over the world. Their cruise collections make you travel and learn other cultures e.g. their cruise in Morocco, Athens, Seville, etc. Dior wants to cooperate with its audience and learn from it. It wants to make clothes for women with different tastes from different cultures, religions, and weather conditions.

Dior priorities agility and creativity, Dior’s already breathtaking flagship boutique in Beverly Hill revealed its grandiose plans of expanding and becoming a three storey boutique including a rooftop as a restaurant and an underground parking(crucial for rodeo-drive). That boutique will feature a line of jewelry unique to Beverly Hills.

Dior constantly expands and innovates, despite some haters saying  it is boring that they stay classy and respect their patterns and original handbags, however, that is what brings respect and the name to the brand.
