Fendace is Finally Here
Three legendary designers, two major Italian luxury fashion houses, and one name: Fendace. This blending together of iconic brands has created an epic moment in fashion history. Fendace isn’t a collaboration, but rather a swap. Fendi designers Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini Fendi have created a Versace in their vision while Donatella Versace creates a Fendi through her eyes. Fendace was born out of friendship and togetherness. Jones told Vogue, “It is the beauty of togetherness after time apart and a celebration of women who have inspired me so much.”
The collection hit stores May 12, but it made its debut on the exclusive runway at Milan Fashion Week last September. The glamorous show featured fashion royalty–Gigi Hadid, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Amber Valletta, and Kristen McMenamy walked the Fendace runway. Fendace is the definition of high fashion–luxurious and ideal for an it-girl.
What can you expect from Fendace? Maximalist prints, chain mail, medusa safety pins, Fendi baguettes, and gold all come together in Versace by Fendi and Fendi by Versace. The flashy mini dresses, the chic heels, the iconic bags will all go down in fashion history. Fendace’s fun, party-like feel is reminiscent of Gossip Girl’s Upper East Side socialite style. I can picture Serena and Blair sporting coordinated mini dresses to a cocktail party with Manhattan’s elite. Fendace is the new it-collection for the it-girl. Fendace is glittering party dresses, sparkling champagne, and late night dancing. I am loving the fun, party look of Fendace.
What does Fendace mean for the fashion industry? It shows how creativity flourishes when people come together. Fashion houses that are used to competing, combine their talents and signature styles to produce a historic collection. Friendship and love are at the core of Fendace–Donatella Versace said to Vogue “To me, Fendace will always mean love.” The sharing of creativity is a powerful message to the world. The whole collection works so seamlessly well together that it seems as though it was always meant to be a part of fashion history.
I am excited to see people embrace the Fendace look, and I have a feeling it’s going to be spotted in street style looks as well as on celebrities and influencers all over. Stars have already been embracing the glamorous Fendace styles. Vanessa Hudges sported a sleek Fendace look at the Hard Rock Cafe Hotel Grand Opening, and Brazilian superstar Anitta wore a pink chainmail Fendace gown to the Billboard Music Awards. The luxurious new collection is a creative masterpiece from two powerhouse fashion houses. And if you can’t wait to get your hands on Fendace, they are having a series of pop up shops around the world, and they have the collections online on Fendi’s and Versace’s sites.
