Fresh Faces & Designs at NYFW
There is something special about finally returning to in person events and not having to look through a digital screen. New York Fashion Week is back with some well known favorites and some new up and coming future stars.
Maisie Wilen went viral just a few years ago when Kim Kardashian was spotted wearing several of her playfully patterned dresses. The young designer, Maisie Schloss, was the first to receive Kanye West’s fashion incubator grant, and quickly became popular amongst celebrities such as Christina Aguilera and Jorja Smith. Her signature psychedelic looks and form fitting styles continue to turn heads and maybe even remind people not to take themselves too seriously. Her last collection, Ready-To-Wear Spring 2022, explored a different vibe than her previous designs. Lace garments and even jockey-inspired tops stole the show. With hints of sport and romance, it showcased the endless creativity of Maisie Wilen. The excitement is rising for this upcoming Fashion Week to see what playfully fun and creative designs Maisie Schloss of Maisie Wilen has come up with now.
Beyond the trends that come and go, unisex brand A. Potts aims to create timeless designs meant to be worn over and over again. Aaron Potts, the designer behind the brand, was born in Detroit and raised in Brooklyn where he found his love of fashion seeing people at church dress up each Sunday. He designs for everyone: all ages, all sizes, all genders. His modern pieces are created to be versatile and simple. He understands that most people wear only part of what is in their closet, and his styles are meant to be that part of the closet that is easy to wear. The earthy, neutral colors of his looks accentuate the ease and versatility of each garment. This upcoming week, look out for the inclusive fashion of up and coming designer A. Potts.
For a taste of nostalgia and romance, Saint Sintra will be making a new addition to NYFW. Sintra Martins uses historically inspired techniques for unique takes on modern day trends. Having creative freedom drives Sintra Martins to create captivatingly fun looks for women of all body types. This fashion week we cannot wait to see what new ideas Saint Sintra will bring to one of the biggest stages in fashion.
