Looks from Oppenheimer’s UK Premier
Two of the summer’s biggest movies hit theaters this Friday. Oppenheimer and Barbie. It’s to no surprise, with the nature of the movie, Barbie has had an astonishing amount of fashion looks, featured interviews, cover shoots, and premieres leading up to the 21st. But don't be fooled, Oppenheimer’s UK premier red carpet, brought about many show-stopping press tour looks as well as feature documentary preparations to hit the silver screen.
Actress Florence Pugh looked stunning in a burnt orange gown by Valentino for the UK premiere on July 13th in London, UK. The dress featured a low-cut triangle top, a wide ruched waistband, and a long pleated gown with a train. Paired with a blonde low cut and simple Tiffany and Co earrings. This dress debuted just this month during Valentino’s Couture show, Un Château. The look fits in with the fiery aspect of the film. Florence plays Jean Tatlock, a psychiatrist, and friend of J. Robert Oppenheimer.
Emily Blunt, who plays Kitty, wife of J. Robert Oppenheimer wore a stunning Alexander McQueen for the UK premiere. The bodice of the gown shone like obsidian, featuring a curving and uniquely cut-out neckline. Statement shoulder curved upwards creating an overall silhouette that reminds me of lava rock. Accents of silver swirl lower on the dress. Right above, the dress turns to tassel, continuing the existing black and silver down to ankles like unwoven fabric. The look was paired with a coordinating beaded clutch, silver and emerald earrings, and simple black strappy heels.
As the SAG strike has begun, leading to the cancellation of Oppenheimer's New York City premiere, we can’t expect to see any more premier red-carpet looks for the time being. But Florence Pugh and Emily Blunt more than made up for it with their UK appearances.
