New York Fashion Week Street Style

New York Fashion Week brings out the best of the best styles and designs. The runways and showrooms are filled with artfully designed styles from the top designers in fashion, but the streets of New York bring their own unique and fun twist to the fashion of NYFW. While the shows dictate the new trends of the upcoming season, the styles on the street showcase those trends in everyday looks.

Bright pinks and bold reds dotted the streets of New York nodding to Valentine’s Day that just passed. Hot pink is hot: tailored pants, puffer coats, gowns, and a red and pink skirt and jacket set pulled together with a bright red bralette underneath exhibit some of the more feminine looks on the street. A flirty red and pink color block outfit is just the right amount of color and confidence.

Mixing prints and patterns, and just all around having fun with fashion is what fashion week street style is all about. Pink florals mixed with green florals, a multicolored dotted button down paired with a tie-dye turtleneck; the most fun combinations that stand out vividly against the gray cityscape of NYC.

Neutral tones also had their shining moments on the streets. Classic slacks and a white tee paired with a beige colored Prada bucket hat could be the next essential outfit that everyone needs. Dressed down or dressed up, neutrals ruled the streets. A white longline coat over a deep brown dress and black strappy heels coalesce to showcase a polished and classic neutral look.

Monochrome sets brought even more pops of color to New York Fashion Week. From a bright orange to a dark wine and even an all white look, the simplicity and boldness of one color is a dazzling style.

Dressing for the cold weather during fashion week means lots of layers and coats. But people did not let that inhibit their style, rather they chose to make their coats the statement of their outfit. An all white outfit under a delicate pale blue jacket demonstrates some of the softer more refined looks on the streets of New York. A shimmering sequin covered coat makes a sparkly statement under the lights of New York. Puffer coats, one of the top trends of this winter, of course, made their way into NYFW street style. Fluffy, teddy-bear like coats are not only ultra-cozy and warm, but also make an amazing addition to any outfit.

Sometimes the best part of an entire look is the shoes. The streets of New York did not disappoint when it came to its shoe game. Orange chunky loafers, a twist on a classic shoe, brought a preppy vibe to the street. The 80s are back in the form of moon boots; a definite statement piece on your feet. Sleek heeled boots, a versatile shoe, yet endlessly stylish, also made an appearance this fashion week.

Thank goodness fashion week was back in person, so everyone could bring their A-game style to the streets of New York. The bright colors, vibrant prints and patterns, and statement pieces dazzled on the street during New York Fashion Week.
