SAG Awards 2023 Red Carpet

Last year Sundays were exclusively reserved for Euphoria, this time around we are giving our solemn focus to award ceremonies. Unless you are still binge watching OBX 3 and I can’t blame you. So here are all the fashion updates you need from tonight’s 29th Screen Actor Guild Awards.

The event honors the best film and television performances of the year according to the 2,500 SAG-AFTRA members, including Michelle Yeoh, Viola Davis, Cate Blanchett, Austin Butler, Brendan Fraser, Jeremy Allen White and Jenna Ortega.

Like many other aspects in life the SAG Awards are going digital with the help of none other than Netflix. We can now stream the ceremony through Netflix’s YouTube channel. A night of high tension as it’s said to believe that it serves as a close indicator for the big night; the Oscars. Two awards ceremonies that suddenly got dementia and forgot there are women directors as well so let's not waste time talking about them and let’s dive into what matters; the gorgeous, talented, magnificent, hard working women of the night.

Euphoria Sundays may be over but we still got our Zendaya dosis. The Best Female Actor for a Drama Series nominee wore not one but two gowns. Listen, Zendaya is the absolute best dresser of all times, she is perfection. So when I say that I didn’t like her SAG Awards look I say it with a heavy heart. I even told myself - you are crazy! It’s Zendaya - but for me this time not even Zendaya could make those dresses look good. She wore a light Valentino gown with life size roses adorning her waist Al, the way to the end of the train changing into a pastel pink, black bustier Armani Prive gown. I don’t know but the pastel colors and color block are giving me flashbacks of an 80’s prom.

Another fashion enthusiast, Jenna Ortega, arrived at the awards in a one shouldered, black leather Versace gown. Nominated for Best Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her role on Wednesday which she paid tribute to by keeping things goth, sleek and dark. This look for me is 50/50 as I love Jenna’s styling and hair and makeup but the high slit just and plunging sweetheart neckline are a no.

Then we have the Carolina Herrera girls and two far they are my favorite. Kathryn Newton showed up in a purple cocktail gown and ballet pumps. The color against the dark tulle top looked stunning. Haley Lu Richardson, from The White Lotus, wore a stunning old Hollywood vibes strapless gown encrusted in pearls. The hair and makeup were just the cherry on top. Portia could only dream of looking this fashionable.

Another favorite form The White Lotus cast, Jennifer Coolidge, who won Best Female Actor in a Drama Series took the stage in a 60’s inspired YSL ruched black gown. To me she was the best dress of the night! Looking absolutely beautiful I mean that dress was made for her, the sleek long-sleeves and sweetheart neckline paired with a coordinating headband and loose curls screamed Hollywood royalty.

I have to talk about my favorite friend duo Lucia and Mia (Simona Tabasco and Beatrice Grannó). Beatrice wore a Valentino loose shirt black gown and wet hair look.

Niecy Nash-Betts wore a gorgeous lime green custom Vera Wang chartreuse strapless silk gown. She just looked absolutely perfect, the way the hand draped tulle hugged her body was a chef's kiss.

Take a look at some of the night's looks and as you do say a little prayer and ask for the release of the Louis Vuitton girls.
