Stella McCartney is PFW’s Sustainability Champion

In front of the Centre Pompidou for her first outdoor show, a runway intended to be more approachable for anyone who wanted to come and see it. An artistic affair that celebrated the designers 87% sustainable ss23 collection, her most sustainable to date!

Sustainability never looked so good! The collection was intrinsically Y2K to its core. Stella brought some of her past iconic designs; versions of her gold chain top from her days at Chloe, tailored jumpsuits like the ones from her 2009 show adding in a sentiment of nostalgia with Gigi wearing a cargo suit and Bella rocking rhinestone encrusted low-rise trousers.

Looking back at memory lane Stella, who is all about sustainability since the beginning, focuses every new collection and transition around that. Applying all modern era has to offer like utilizing bio-diverse cotton, plant-based materials for shoes, faux leather made out of grape skin and the Y2K signature rhinestones made free from animal glue and solvents. Just a few seasons ago Bolt Threads and Stella debuted the first ever mushroom leather bag.

McCartney's collection wasn’t a reflection of her past but a reenergized new approach to the era she helped shape and transform.

How does one change history? Pioneering and pushing for alternative options that align humans with animals and nature. Being environmentally conscious is Stella McCartney’s DNA, a living proof motto that proves quality, beauty and design won't be sacrificed.

Stella shows the world how exciting and doable it is to be part of the change.
