The Best Looks From Last Night's AMAs Awards
Last night fans voted for their favorite musicians and performers, honoring this year's best talents. Amongst the winners of the night were Italian rock band Maneskin, up-and-coming singer Dove Cameron, Harry Styles, pop duo BTS and the big winner of the night, Taylor Swift who took home 6 awards, becoming the artist with more AMAs wins ever.
Music truly is magical, it has the power to reach the deepest most personal parts of ourselves. Music breathes life, happiness and love. It’s also about creativity and free expression, nothing better to accompany it than fashion and the AMAs red carpet has seen some of history’s most iconic fashion moments.
Artists brought the glitter, shimmer and bold-glamor to the Microsoft Theater red carpet.
This year’s Female Latin Artist award went to Brazilian pop princess, Anitta. An artist that has captivated everyone with her witty lyrics, rhythmic melodies and of course her dance moves, you can’t tell me you haven’t tried the Envolver challenge. Anitta wore a body hugging, white and black custom made Mugler mermaid gown. Sequins outlined the singer's silhouette revealing a cheeky cut-out. She accessorized with multiple chunky bracelets, rings and diamond earrings. Later, to receive her award she changed into my favorite look of the night. A vintage molded bustier gown from Issey Miyake’s 1980 collection. The cream body-hugging gown paired with the bustier, jewelry and red auburn locks made Anitta look like an actual modern day mermaid princess.
Pink also chose vintage and not just any vintage. The pop singer borrowed iconic Bob Mackie dresses from the one and only Cher. Making her comeback to the AMAs stage in jaw dropping gowns. She rocked the red carpet in a very P!nk fitting dress, a black and yellow sequined halter gown from Bob Mackie’s 1987 California collection and crystal studded platforms. Later taking the stage where she sang her new single and also made a rendition to the late iconic Olivia Newton-John, wearing a gorgeous light pink gown with feathers and sequins.
There even was twin moment just like in Sex and The City movie! Proving great style looks great on everyone. Dove Cameron, who scored Best New Artist of the Year Award, wore a white and black set from Marc Jacobs twinning with Tinashe. Both artists rocked the white corset and fitted black skirt but each added their own personal touch. Tinashe kept it more punk with towering platform heels, square Marc Jacobs sunglasses and tying the whole look she wore her hair in sleek Bantu knots. Cameron also kept things edgy and cool as she wrapped a puffer jacket around her waist, wore dramatic eye makeup and long face-framing braids. Which styling did you like best?
