The Best Looks from the 2023 Tony Awards Red Carpet
The 76th Tony Awards were this weekend, Broadway’s biggest stars showing up to be recognized and celebrated. Amidst the ongoing writer’s strike, it was unsure for a while if the Tony’s would happen, but happen they did, and these are some of the best looks from the Tonys red carpet.
Alex Newell

Alex Newell made history at this year’s Tony Awards by being the first gender non-conforming actor to win Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical, and looked incredible doing it. The Shucked star wore a glittering gold off the shoulder gown from Christian Siriano. The draping, luxurious fit of the gown made Newell look like a trophy themselves.

Jessica Chastain always knocks it out of the park, and this year’s Tony’s are no different. This buttery, sunflower yellow pleated chiffon gown and matching cape from Gucci perfectly complemented the actresses’ strawberry blonde locks. The structured waistline emphasized her hips, and a royally bejeweled pendant with a silver chain acted as a cross between a halter top and a necklace.
Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong’o could make pretty much anything look chic, but this slim fitting black tuxedo over a custom molded silver breastplate was transcendental. The breastplate, made by Pakistani artist Misha Japanwalla, was molded after the actress's own chest. The simplicity and contrast of the black tuxedo completed the look.

Dylan Mulvaney showed up to the Tony’s with a brand new platinum blonde look complete with bleached eyebrows. The TikTok star donned a sparkling black Christian Siriano ball gown, the dark color of which contrasted well with her new hair. The dress featured a sheer bodice with ribbed details and a ruffled, off the shoulder neckline. The whole look was dramatic and stunning.
J. Harrison Ghee

This look, worn by J. Harrison Ghee, the Some Like It Hot star, is fun, bold, and daring. The trumpet gown is a shocking electric blue, with long gloves, a high collar and a long, dramatic train. The look was accessorized with lots and lots of jewels, which may be just slightly over the top.
