The Princess Of Wales Did Not Disappoint With Her Style Over The Weekend
King Charles’ III royal Coronation was this past weekend and all eyes where on Kate Middleton’s, the Princess of Wales, new style.
While the big event took place on Saturday, there were quite a few events that the Princess had leading up to the Coronation. She visited the Dog & Duck Pub on Thursday and wore a striking red coat dress paired with sleek white Jimmy Choo pumps. Underneath she had a white undershirt dress to make it pop and accessorized with a small white purse.
Friday consisted of meeting with the public to get them excited and ready for the big day taking place on Saturday. The Jenny Packham dress she wore for the public was later switched to a cobalt blue Self-Portrait dress for the reception they held the night before the Coronation. Kate finished off her look with stunning pair of Aquazzura strappy pumps embellished with crystals among the satin.
With the big day finally coming around on Saturday, Kate was dressed to the nine’s. She, once again. wore Alexander McQueen, this time it was a silk ivory crepe gown with 4 embroidered flowers. Symbolizing a deeper meaning than what meets the eye, the 4 flowers, a rose, shamrock, daffodil, and thistle, are representative of the 4 countries that make up the United Kingdom, Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, and Wales.
The dress is inspired by the 2008 fall collection from Alexander McQueen; The Girl Who Lived in the Tree. In this collection, the colors red, white, and blue were the main focus, which are also the colors that Kate was wearing all throughout Coronation Day. Her floral headpiece was made with silver crystals, bullion, and threads. A Jess Collett collaboration which symbolizes her seniority over others because she opted for a headpiece, not a tiara.
Additionally, she donned a formal royal robe and mantel at request from the King and Queen. However, this robe covered most of her dress while she was wearing it, so we couldn’t see it that well until pictures came out of her without the royal robe.
Once the coronation was over, she seemed to be looking for a much more casual look. On Sunday, when greeting the public while on a walk, she had on a Reiss powder blue blazer accompanied by a simple white shirt and black straight-leg pants. Her feet were most likely hurting from everything that was going on Saturday, so the Princess went with Veja sneakers to stay more comfortable.
Kate has been wearing a lot of bright colors lately and the Coronation Concert was no different. For the concert, she donned a bright red Alexander McQueen suit, which is not her first time wearing this power suit. The Princess is one to not be scared of re-wearing outfits repeatedly, as she first wore this suit to her “Shaping Us” campaign earlier this year. But no royal outfit is complete without accessories, jewelry especially. She went with one of her favorite jewelry sets consisting of a necklace and a pair of earrings from Van Cleef & Arpels’ Alhambra Collection.
I think I can speak for most people when saying that Princess Kate did not disappoint on the days leading up to the Coronation, and especially the coronation. She always finds a way to look classy, chic, and of course, royal with her looks and it is always fun to see if she has worn a look before and when she wore it if so.
