Every fall/winter, the women's suit trend always comes back in style. Designers get to be creative and experiment with different patterns or fabrics and are creating more unisex styles or versions of suits that everyone can wear. With different styles, colors and variations, this timeless trend is easy to style and spot every season at work, on the street or the runway. It is no secret that the suit has become a timeless wardrobe essential and style staple for women. These days the original women's suit trend has transitioned and morphed into various versions.

One of the variations of the original suit is the three piece suit (blazer, vest and trousers). What was once a traditional staple in men's fashion and has now become something that women are starting to wear daily. It has been reimagined by designers to have more feminine silhouettes and designs. These suits are made with a variety of fabric types and multiple bright color palettes to make the trend more appealing to female customers. Additionally, designers have been creating matching accessories such as hats and purses made out the same material as the suit.

Another variation of the suit trend is genderless suiting, which takes inspiration from the original power suit from the 80s. It has masculine influences, with oversized blazers, double breasted jackets/coats, matching ties and strong shoulder silhouettes. These pantsuits are big and boxy in fit but still makes the wearer look polished. Some variations of suits today also feature cropped blazers with mini skirts or suits with matching corsets or bustiers. Additionally, they can change the silhouette or cut of trousers. For instance, some suits have wider or flared pants. Many designers combine aspects of all of these suit variations in their collections.

The suit can be dressed up or down depending on the events. They can be worn with almost any shoe. Even though it is mostly a fall and winter trend, suits made of lighter material can be worn during warmer months. Women have come a long way to be able to have the choice to wear pants let alone a full suit. The fact that women have so much freedom in dress and lots of choices when it comes to their clothing just shows the changing times and fashion industry. The suit trend is changing the expectations for women’s dress and fashion. Women are beginning to wear and reach for suits to go to formal events instead of dresses. Celebrities from Rihanna to Zendaya are wearing them for red carpets or the front row at runway shows. This trend has many women exploring tailoring options like never before and it is great to see.
