Where Music Meets Fashion, Art and Social Activism

About 109 miles from London one will find the beautiful Vale of Avalon, a symbolic land as it is believed King Arthur is buried there, but also the sacred ground where one of the biggest  greenfield music festivals takes place. Glastonbury Festival is a legendary music and performance event, which is celebrating its 51st anniversary this year. Music fans from all over the world come together for an unforgettable weekend where the world's biggest stars perform, from Stevie Wonder to Billie Eilish. Unlike other music festivals, Glastonbury has shown its support for humanitarian causes. Since its early beginning the festival has donated some of its earnings to causes like the CND and this year also featured different panels for activists to discuss social injustice issues, climate change and politics.

The Solar Power singer debuted her new blonde hair along with a pastel one-piece swimsuit that tied around her tights by Dilara Fındıkoğlu. She paired her corseted swim piece with red tights and sneakers. A look styled by renowned stylist Karla Welch. The choice of bright colors and her more girly blonde-updo brought a sunnier side of the singer, one that accompanies her new styling era that leaves behind her darker and goth wardrobes. Like other performers Lorde delivered a powerful and truthful message:

"Wanna hear a secret, girls? Your bodies were destined to be controlled and objectified since before you were born," Lorde

One of this year's most anticipated headliners included Olivia Rodrigo who took a break from her worldwide Sour Tour. Rodrigo’s stylists are duo Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo, the “it” sisters have styled the Drivers License singer for many of her performances including this year's Glastonbury fit. The Delgadillo sisters dressed Olivia in a purple plaid bikini top and a custom mini skirt with matching warmers from SSENSE. It wouldn’t be an Olivia Rodrigo look without punk-rock edgy accessories, so she finished her look with some black fishnet stockings and knee-high Dr. Marten boots. Rodrigo ended her performance looking incredible and dedicating a f*ck you to the Supreme Court.

“Devastated and terrified that so many women and so many girls are going to die because of this.” Olivia Rodrigo

One of the most shocking performances of the night was delivered by Kendrick Lamar. The Pulitzer-Award winner stepped out onto stage wearing his now very famous Tiffany & Co. thorns crown. A custom made crown that took over 10 months to fabricate and over 8,000 diamond cobblestones. Just in time for him to show it off on his album artwork cover for his 5th studio album. As she pero farm de was ending fake blood rushed down his face staining his white bottoms down and baggy black trousers from Louis Vuitton.

Kendrick Lamar’s lyrics have meaning and invite for critical conversation, his performance didn’t fall short of that.

“Godspeed for women's rights." Kendrick Lamar

This year's festival not only saw the youngest ever headliner, Billie Elilish, but was filled with an air of despair and hurt by how the world is treating women and marginalized communities. Fashion didn’t disappoint and helped performers deliver their messages in a visual and theatrical way.
