After their controversial couture show, Schiaparelli has come back with a new ready-to-wear collection at the Hôtel d’Évreux. This is the brand’s first ready to wear runway show since its revival. In an effort to further expand the brand, creative director Daniel Roseberry has been focusing on in-store purchasing retail and increasing ready-to-wear and accessories offerings. The brand is exploring new avenues and new potential clientele by taking over retail spaces and giving them more options. Schiaparelli is working on turning into a brand beyond their couture and expanding their offerings to consumers. This runway show is one of the many efforts to do that.

In an interview with WWD, Roseberry said, “This isn’t show one, this is show zero. It’s like the foundation. I really want people to leave knowing what the Schiaparelli wardrobe is and wanting it all…We’re not trying to break the internet with this collection. It’s more a collection for clients, inspired by the clients, and I want there to be something very cozy and natural about it too, and very sensual. It’s not as much of a performance as the couture,” he said. “It was really about going back to the roots of the way that Elsa dressed herself. We want to make sure it doesn’t feel like the sad sister of couture. It really needs to stand on its own, have a different energy to it, like a different vibe that’s a bit more sporty as well, which I’m really into.”

The collection has been three years in the making according to Roseberry. The designer thought deeply about his clientele and created an exclusive collection for them to look at. The collection was avant garde in nature, making ready to wear look luxurious with disciplined garments. The collection mixed various dresses and suits with mixes of neutral colors such as white, brown and black. Each look had gold extravagant jewelry tying the looks together. Roseberry has an eye for good quality fabrics for garments. In this collection, he was able to combine multiple fall fabrics such as leather, velvet and fur together to create different textures of each outfit. With an increased effort to push their new accessories, every model had statement accessories such as bold bags, pointed boots and gold capped heels.
