Alberta Ferreti’s Light vs Prada’s Darkness

It’s day three and Milan Fashion Week is bringing darkness and light.

Alberta Ferreti showed how she is evolving and inviting women to live this next season with their elegance, sexuality and femininity through bright colors. The Ferreti women are packing up their bags and traveling to the Italian seaside to live their best fashion moments under the Italian heat.

Ferreti took a surprising turn in her usual aesthetic and designed her latest daywear around lightness and a zesty colorful palette. A bright array of turquoises, earthy avocado, burnt siennas, bright oranges and neon fuchsias paired with handmade embellished crystal tops and crocheted bikinis will make you the chicest women this upcoming summer. The unexpected color combinations matched perfect the light layering of bright trousers underneath skirts paired with sage tops.

“I think it’s important to not do heavy, dark fashion at the moment,” Alberta Ferretti said

It seems like summer's next big trend is pants. Alberta Ferreti showed more pants than usual exploring how they can be masterfully styled with basically anything from light coats, sheer tops and embellished tops.

Every piece from this collection is intended to become an essential part of a woman's wardrobe, a piece that can be styled multiple ways and worn multiple times keeping things timeless and elegant.

As one designer praises the joyfulness found in color and lightness another one explores a darker mood.

Prada kept things dark as Nicolas Winding Refn covered the rooms at Fondazione Prada with black paper, setting the tone which alluded to a darker feeling.

As the guests, the majority sporting Pradas now iconic white tank, overlooked the catwalk models came down wearing all black and neutral outfits balanced with multi-color chunky high-heels.

The collection was elegant and it took on a life of its own as there were no major distractions, just the black paper and dimly lit runway as light poured in from the windows.

Miuccia Prada and RAF Simmons vision speaks to a very elegant and mature Prada, one that does not frame the silhouette, explores different texture combinations, layers shirts underneath dresses, plays with transparencies and occasional pops of color. Honestly I am in love with every single look as it can be styled to fit different aesthetics and personalities, its simplicity makes it so complex and beautiful.
