América González Walked 36 Shows and is Quickly Becoming Fashion’s Next Big Model

Meet América González, the Venezuelan native on-the-rise top model who just walked 36 fashion shows last month!

The impressive runway resume of the 26 year old model is a reflection of her hard work, passion and commitment. A reality she forged and one that wasn’t easy. At just 23 years old she was scouted via her Instagram, opening a door she never knew was available. She had to make a decision and following her desire and heart she chose to risk it all. Switching carriers, from doctor-to-be to model, wasn’t a descripción welcomed by her family. So América took it not her own hands, she had to after all get from South America to Milan. She stood her ground and started a fundraiser and with the help from some relatives she was on her way to making her dreams come true.

At this point I think we all collectively know that being a model and the life it entails isn't all rainbows and glitter. A profession that takes a lot of dedication, sleepless days, inconsistency in salary, criticism etc. So getting to a runway is not a short accomplishment; “I’ll be completely honest; sometimes I’m so exhausted I just zone out,”.

Now, her hard work and sacrifice pays off as she is becoming a force to be reckoned with. América is a strong believer that what we put out in the world is what we receive, she uses her social media platform to thank everyone she works with and bring light to how fashion helps build community, creates jobs and takes stands for social issues.

Opening for Dion Lee, walking for Fendi, Carolina Herrera, Valentino, Marc Jacobs, Altuzarra, Brandon Maxwell and 29 others shows while being the cover of Vogue Korea made September the official month of América’s reign in fashion.
