Baby Blue Eyeshadow is Back & Icier than Ever

This fall we are ditching the usual deep, rich burgundy hues and we are going ice blue. 

Yes, baby blue eyeshadow is officially back. Although it never really left. 

Blue, believe it or not, was the feminine color of choice. Same color Barbie wore for the first time back in 1959. Since then the icy tone has pop up through the decades and everyone has rocked it. From Liza Minnelli in Cabaret, to Kate Moss, Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Madonna, Twiggy, Aaliyah to today's big names like Rosalia, Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner and many more.

Our current obsession with Y2K and an insatiable nostalgic feeling for all things retro on top of a Euphoria fever-high, blue being this season's color is no surprise. I mean baby blue eyeshadow for winter is the embodiment of all the trends we’ve seen this year, it is fresh, universally flattering, it’s retro, fun, youthful and experimental. 

The fun part is that blue, first of all looks good on every skin tone and second it can be worn on the lids, the crease, the inner eye, can also be used as eyeliner, as mascara, the options are endless.

Baby blue eyeshadow is a solidification of all the different eras we are currently taking inspiration from, becoming more evident as experimental makeup became very popular with the release of Euphoria. 

And what else is blue? Taylor Swift’s new Midnights album were she is wearing shimmering, glimmering, sparkly blue eyeshadow! If it’s good enough for her it is good enough for us.

A fun way to add color to our look. If you are more into the minimalist aesthteic try a barely-there dusting with a faint blue eyeshadow which you can play up with pink blush or color saturated lips. You can also keep things matte or add subtle hints of shine like underlining your water line. Any which way experiment and don’t be afraid, blue is your color.
