Inside the LACMA + Art Film Gala Presented by Gucci
This weekend was all about art and cinema as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s presented its 11th annual Art and Film Gala. A celebration that recognized the talent and creative of director Park Chan-work and artist Helen Pashigan alongside A-listers and the best of fashion.
Guests arrived in glittery, flapper-inspired, glamorous ensembles as they were dressed by the nights presenter; Gucci.
Co-chair trustees Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio were joined by Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele and Sir Elton John who performed at the Renzo building, making it a memorable night.
Gucci was of course the go-to look for the black-tie gala and many of the attendees sported the Italian fashion house look from head-to-toe.
Making headlines, Billie Eillish and boyfriend Jesse Rutherford made their red carpet debut in Gucci sleepwear ensemble. Eillish wore a floor-grazing slip gown with beautiful lace details paired with a sleeping rob and sleeping eye mask. The couple walked the carpet snuggled underneath a larger-than-life Gucci monogrammed bedspread.
The Don’t Worry Darling director, Olivia Wilde, calught everyone’s eyes with her purple and gold sequined slip dress paired with the most incredible red latex opera gloves who matched perfectly with the scrappy cherry-red scrappy heels.
Jodie Turner-Smith once again proved she is this year’s official muse. She has been killing it red carpet after red carpet. For the fundraising event she showed up in a 1920’s inspired black and gold Gucci gown. Tailored to perfection, the plunging neckline and dazzling fringes looked absolutely divine.
It was also a night for risk takers, as Addison Rae and Kendall Jenner wore body hugging, sensual and completely stunning gowns.
Just like Addison, Kendall Jenner wasn’t afraid to take a risk. The super model arrived at the LACMA gala in a sheer sultry skirt and top by Parisian designer Burc Akyol. The look was risqué and maybe not to everyone’s liking but the low-rise silver skirt was absolutely gorgeous as it appeared to be melting onto the floor as it hugged Kendall’s hips. We always appreciate celebrities endorsing up and coming talents but there is no excuse for the horrible tailoring on the top that ripped the fabric.
Laura Harrier also brought the risqué factor. Simple, clean, sexy might as well be synonymous to what YSL has been doing lately. Harrier embodied the modern Hollywood star look in a hooded, cross-over, cut-out back, brown halter dress from Saint Laurent ss23. It might come across as overly simple and monochromatic but that is we’re it’s beauty lies. It’s the simplicity of a well tailored dress that is just chef’s kiss! Laura completed the look with cuffs in the same brown hue and matching nails.
