Botter’s Plastic Sea with Condoms Included

Did you see the model who strutted the runway with literal condoms filled with blue liquid? Meet BOTTER.

Liso Herrebrugh and Rushemy Botter are the power couplebehind BOTTER, a brand whose DNA is deeply engraved in environmental council senses pulling inspiration and its identity from one of the world's most biologically diverse marine regions; the Caribbean.

The rich Caribbean culture mixed with their expertise of Belgian and Dutch tailoring infuses their menswear collections with a notion of luxury, quality, boldness and edge.

Their manifesto is all about caring for the Earth and the arts. One can’t survive without the other, no nature means no arts, nothing. At BOTTER the idea of respect is not just an afterthought, it is an obligation. Giving back to Mother Nature through their Botter Coral Nursery which works on reviving coral reefs.

For their SS23 collection they continued to pay homage to Mother Earth. Titled The Plastic Sea, the oceanic references were plastered in the vibrant blue hues and the use of literal water. The collection showed off BOTTER’s impressive tailoring with slouchy trousers tucked with blazers and undershirts. We saw graphic tees with bejeweled dolphins, heart shaped cut-outs, deep-sea graphics printed on body hugging dresses, protective neoprene textile reminiscent of wetsuits and scuba divers.

Ice cubes made a statement as it appeared that the cleats and tennis shoes worn by the models had been sunk in water and froze.

Also kelp made an appearance, BOTTER utilized a material made from the CO2 absorbent plant for their tube dresses, real steps to give back for everything we take.
