Celebrating Acne Studios 10th PFW Anniversary
We are celebrating! It’s been ten years since Acne Studios made its Paris Fashion Week debut and for that we are thankful.
Jonny Johansson’s designs brought the Scandinavian way of life to high fashion with its flowy cuts. Loose fabrics, ease, perfect layerings, draping and soft neutral tones.
For its SS23 collection Acne studios presented a softer, more delicate collection. It was sort of a Nordic pink cotton candy dream as the brand's signature hue decorated the carpets of the venue.
We still got the grunge, edgy Scandinavian style we love so much. There was innocent lace, ruffles, gingham, crunched up leather, sheer tops, big bows, ribbons and heart shaped draping.
A masterful collection of layered skirts atop draped silk dresses finished with lace hems, spiked jeans paired with Uber femenine lace tops and pink bows, ribbed see-through unitards adorned with pink petals, oversized distressed leather blazers with spikes countering its silhouette, the brands signature straight sheer pants, voluminous caged skirts and body-hugging wet-like body cons.
A softer approach through loose silhouettes with Acne Studios signature and recognizable touch.
Jonny designed as he reminisced about his wedding and how weddings can be kind of kitsch. Showcasing his brand’s most dressed up collection to date, explaining the unusual use of tulle and lace combined met by its opposites in distressed Lowry-put leather and metal spikes. The perfect look to accompany Acne Studios ss23 menswear take on formal attire dress.
All and all it was a celebration with formal-gaudy as its dress code. Loved it!
