Crocs Celebrates 20th Year Anniversary

This October marks Crocs’ 20th year anniversary in the world of footwear! The company renamed the month ‘Croctober’ and gave away free Crocs to celebrate their achievements and to give back to their fans.

Heidi Cooley, Croc’s Chief Marketing Officer stated, “Over the last two decades, as we’ve grown up, they have too, and together we’ve created a global comfort revolution. This ‘Croctober’ proves there’s no better time to reflect on an incredible 20 years, to celebrate what makes each one of us unique and to build on the momentum to continue inviting fans ‘Come As You Are’ for generations to come”.

Crocs, Inc is an American footwear brand based in Colorado. The company was founded in 2002 by Samuel Thomson. The classic Crocs is a lightweight, functional shoe made from proprietary closed-cell resin known as, “Croslite”. The classic style comes in 20 colors and normally costs $49.99 for the adult size. Today, the brand sells their foam clogs to over 85 countries and made $3.5 billion dollars in sales.

Crocs owe their increase in popularity to Gen Zers who recently trended the shoes. They are seen all over TikTok and were voted one of Gen Zers favorite brands of 2022.

In recent years, Crocs have released many celebrity collaborations and have also released collaborations with other brands. Crocs have worked with A-list celebrities such as Post Malone, Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny, and Saweetie. They’ve also collaborated with KFC, Balenciaga, and Lisa Frank.

In celebration of ‘Croctober’, the brand gave away thousands of free Crocs during a giveaway from October 1-7. But this isn’t the first time that the brand has given away free products. In 2020, Crocs launched their “Free Pair for Healthcare Workers” program to give back to healthcare workers curing the COVID-19 pandemic. They also sent 100,000 pairs of Crocs to hospitals to be distributed to the staff.

So, whether you love them or hate them, Crocs are here to stay.
