Marilyn Monroe Digitally Dressed Head-to-Toe for CR Fashion Book’s China Cover

CR Fashion Book celebrated not only Marilyn Monroe’s birthday in June, but her iconic status that lives on by putting her on China’s cover. Any fashion editor would dream to have Marilyn Monroe as their cover star. Monroe’s presence in 2022 has been emphasized more than ever (even though she is not one to forget to begin with). From Netflix’s Blonde starring Ana de Armas to celebrities emulating her timeless style, her legacy and power is unmatched.

Monroe broke the glass ceiling and was one of the first to make it to the top without anything getting in her way. In an era when studios overflowed with boy’s clubs, Monroe stood out and made Hollywood her own. Her confidence, unforgettable smile, and signature platinum blonde hair, and beauty mark, left its own mark on Hollywood starring in numerous films, making fashion history, and being the muse of Andy Warhol’s famous pop art portrait that has a price tag of $200 million.

With cutting-edge CGI technology and a beautiful series of pictures from photographer An Le, CR worked closely with Amethyst and Authentic Brands Group, an entertainment, marketing, and brand development company that owns Monroe’s estate. They helped create a vision of Monroe in modern day to bring her elegance to life once again.

The long and meticulous eight month process was curated by the one and only, Carine Roitfeld. She chose everything from a black pantsuit to shimmering, embellished dresses. The creative process could not have been done without her. Issues can be purchased on newsstands internationally. Each of the eight covers will also be available as an NFT on Amethyst.
