Many fashion lead innovators are New York City's Black-owned fashion labels, founded by the city's very own brilliant and creative minds. On schedule and off, they are setting the standard for what it means to drop an iconic collection during New York Fashion Week. These three brands in particular’s Spring/Summer 2024 collections capture the essence of the brand and simultaneously set the stage for trends going into the next year.
Kendall Miles’ Nordstrom Takeover
Chicago was in for a treat last week, with a popup with Kendall Miles as part of the department stores’ Black Business Month. The Chicago-based shoe brand, which produces its gorgeous luxury heels in Italy, sold its most iconic styles and had a popup at the Michigan Avenue location from August 11th through the 13th. Shoppers got an opportunity to try these iconic styles like the Posh Mule in person and meet the brand's owner, founder, and namesake, Kendall Milles.

Ever wondered where astrology and fashion meet? Brandon Blackwood is serving 90s throwback with their newest handbag collection and adding in star signs too. The Black-owned brand, founded by its namesake introduced a new collection of shoulderbags that announce to the world, just who you are. On July 28th, New York Fashion brand Brandon Blackwood debuted their zodiac collection, to be released on August 4th.
