The Best Fashion Moments at the 2024 LACMA Art+Film Gala

Under the iconic glow of the Urban Light installation at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), prominent figures from the worlds of art, fashion, and television gathered to celebrate artist Simone Leigh, renowned for her ceramic and bronze sculptures that powerfully portray Black women, as well as honor director Baz Luhrmann.

It was Gucci who set the sartorial tone of the evening as the event's head sponsor who took the opportunity to bring its luxury approach to evening wear to a more approachable setting. The Italian fashion house showcased the finest from its latest collection, with customized looks characterized by precise tailoring, sharp lapels, and flawless fits. A distinct approach to modern Hollywood beauty and glamour, waltzing around the event along the likes of Kaia Gerber and Charli XCX, who not only made jaws drop in her two-piece mirrored embellished fit but also the night's music entertainment.

The LACMA red carpet shimmered with rich hues of burgundy, creamy velvet drapery, feathered accents, and notable pieces like Princess Diana’s iconic Garrard amethyst cross. This year's LACMA red carpet cemented another great moment in fashion, as well as a phiantrophic achievement by rainig 6.4 million dollars to support LACMA’s mission of preserving the arts. With such milestones reached, it was only fitting that the evening delivered unforgettable fashion moments, adding to the museum's legacy in both culture and style.

The event’s star-studded guest list included icons like Kim Kardashian, Viola Davis, Chloë Sevigny, Greta Lee, Blake Lively, and Liza Gonzalez, each radiating elegance in Italian couture. Viola Davis stunned in a floor-length sequined gown, complete with a mesh cape and a dramatic V-neckline, while Kim Kardashian captivated in an all-white dress with a plunging neckline. Supermodel Victoria turned heads in a striking lavender gown, adding to the lineup of memorable looks where Blake Lively made her red carpet return in a Tamara Ralph argyle cut-out mini dress shaped out of chain mail in diamond shaped crystals.
