The Milan Fashion Week Rundown
With Milan fashion week in full swing, you just might get a headache from looking at all of the amazing collections designers have for us to see. All of the celebrities and high status editors, writers, models, and PR people in the industry have shown face. Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Anna Wintour, Bella Hadid, and Kendall Jenner were in Milan for the shows. Read on to learn more about what you may have missed.
Fendi
The color scheme of Fendi’s collection for Fall 2022 is evidently blues, neutrals, grays, and black for the most part. On Feb. 23rd, Fendi showed off their looks of business casual, sheer fabrics, lettuce edge hems, and fur while showing the runway who is boss. The mix of bustiers and blazers really goes to show the diversification of womenswear in modern day.
Roberto Cavalli
From the endless hype behind low rise jeans to Zendaya’s iconic dress at the Ballon D’Or in Paris, Cavalli knows what he is doing. Feb. 23rd his collection was everything prints, cutouts, leather, buckles, chiffon, sequins, and flowers. The above look is to die for with the animal print sequins and matching boots.
MM6 Maison Margiela
MM6 is Maison Margiela’s diffusion line, or secondary line sold at a lower retail price. Margiela is at it again, per usual serving gorgeous, youthful looks. The brand has established making unisex clothing and straying away from European sizing. The collection shown on Feb. 24th consists of blazers, oversized sweaters, oversized coats, and trousers all in neutral and dark tones with hints of snakeskin.
Dolce & Gabbana
To embody the new world of the metaverse, Dolce & Gabbana incorporated the virtual world into real-life looks. Techy synthetic fabrics were used, sunglasses to resemble the Oculus headset, catsuits as gaming skins but in real life... In this particular look, a blue futuristic colored spandex is layered underneath a black sleeveless tied top and midi skirt. Technology will never go away and fashion is emphasizing this fact with these unique looks on the runway on Feb. 26th.
Bottega Veneta
Bottega Veneta utilized what they use best- leather goods. On Feb. 26th the audience of the Bottega show was in for a treat. Known for their leather bags and vibrant colors, Bottega Veneta threw this all into their collection for this Fall with some neutral colors to balance it all out. This specific look of a purple leather skirt with unique fringing on the interior paired with a neutral coffee colored sweater and some white wedges is so chic and fun for any day.
This week’s fashion week in Milan has proven to us that a lot has been changing in our world and we have to change with it.
