Valentino Fall Winter 23/24

Valentino made a trip from Rome to the outskirts of Paris to debut their Fall Winter 2023 / 2024 collection in a couture runway show on July 5th. Entitled “Un Château” by Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli, the show was full of nods to the elements and statement accessories.

The runway show took place at Château de Chantilly overlooking its extensive and elegant garden. Models start their walk ahead of the Équestre d'Anne de Montmorency statue, descend a staircase, and begin a long winding catwalk in the garden where guests sit along the white runway. Legacy supermodel Kaia Gerber opens the show dressed in oversized blue jeans, a loose-fitted and low white dress shirt, and champagne and shimmering flat mules featuring large statement bows on the front. Large silver chandelier-like earrings bring a pop to the outfit and are seen again throughout the show on many of the models.

Naturesque themes were found throughout the collection. Large unique feather headpieces and accessories are featured throughout the show and jumbo garden-inspired prints can be seen on drapey dresses and they flow down the catwalk, tying in well with the Parisian garden surroundings. Common colors included white, Kelly green, navy, champagne, black, and of course, Valentino’s signature fuschia. Deep draped necklines, as well as flowing dresses, create a natural and free-spirited feel.

Stars in attendance at the glamorous show included Florence Pugh and Naomi Ackie. Florence wore a sheer and drapey lavender gown to the show, with flowing ruffled sleeves, a train, and a contrasting big back bow on the back. She wore her hair cut in a short dyed pink. Paired with mega-high platform black pumps, and a small black Valentino shoulder bag, she looked one with nature in a look that left little to the imagination in her stunning ensemble.

Valentino’s most recent couture collection is truly one with nature, in silhouettes with elegant movements that seem to coexist with the model flawlessly.
