Victoria Beckham Takes Paris
Victoria Beckham debuted in Paris with her ss23 collection accompanied by her whole family sitting front row. A celebration and reaffirmation of the brand’s new and fresh take on femininity, assertion of past values and endless appreciation of craftsmanship.
The brand’s identifying heritage was present, masculine constructed tailoring conscious of the sensual, sinuous body. Creating a visual flow between soft and hard, structured and fluid.
A modern feminine collection where the body is held and constructed in chiffon, georgette, silk-jersey and satins.
“It’s a big deal for me to do a show in Paris. It’s been a dream, and therefore the collection has to reflect that,” Beckham said.
Victoria expressed her take on playful sexiness and femininity by creating pieces that explore the softness and strength of a body, the use of lace offers a peek into the skin and movement is offered through tassels and fringes.
The whole collection felt like a new beginning for the VB brand as many of the dresses do appeal to a younger customer. Also the silhouettes and the craft behind the design looks simpler, less layering which means a neater cut. A cleaner, more stylized fresh look adorned with the perfect fun elements like the tassel bag. Victoria does simple and clean and elegant but never boring. The more you look at the collection the more details and beauty one finds.
All the looks will surely infiltrate Victoria’s wardrobe and we can’t wait to see her wear her breezy, transparent fabrics, fringes and glossy latex gloves for summer.
