What is Palace Gucci Selling for $120K?

The Italian luxury house, Gucci, has released its collaboration with London-based skateboarding and clothing brand, Palace. According to Gucci, this is the first time that the brand has “handed over the House archives to another brand to be the basis of their design vision”. The collection was released on October 21, 2022 and is available for purchase.

Throughout the years, Gucci has been a known collaborator. From luxury brands like Balenciaga, to affordable brands like Adidas, Gucci has partnered with many brands to combine the two worlds together. Although Gucci has teamed up with many brands from diverse industries, this is the first time that the fashion house has collaborated with a skateboard brand to cater towards a more youthful consumer base.

The collaboration combines classic Gucci elements with a reformed motorcycle aesthetic. Described as, “Guccier than Gucci,” the collection merges both brands’ styles and debuts Palace’s women’s ready-to-wear designs alongside the unisex garments. The collection is recognizable from both brands and is an iconic entry in the world of streetwear. Some pieces include t-shirts, leather pants, umbrellas, handbags, and sweatshirts.

The standout pieces in the collection are the leather jacket with embroideries and patches and the leather pants with patches. These pieces combine vintage aesthetics with Italian sport motifs.

The collection also features a $53,000 motorcycle with Moto Guzzi, an Italian motorcycle manufacturer. The seat is covered with Gucci’s classic monogram logo and is a nod to Gucci’s origins to travel. The tank of the bike comes with a camouflage pattern that features Palace writing. Only 50 motorcycles will be available to purchase, making this limited-edition bike a collectible.

But the most outrageously expensive item in the collection is a $120,000 safe. The safe, made in conjunction with Conforti, has nods to Gucci's travel aesthetic. The safe also features the Gucci logo with Palace’s distinctive “P” throughout the design. The safe box is a limited-edition item and only 10 were made.
