Why Wear 1 Belt When You Can Wear 2

We are going full circle as one of the naughtiest biggest trends, one that can make many cringe, is officially back. Since this summer Bella Hadid gave the double-belting trend her seal of approval and when that happens you know the trend is going to blow up.

So go dig into your closet and grab on any belts you have as mix and matching is the way to do it.

This very functional piece has made its rounds throughout the decades as an ornamental accessory. More noticeable during the 2000-2010 era where every celebrity and it girl wore a version of. a belt or chain around their waists, free-falling loosely and unbothered. Now, Miu Miu is resurrecting the trend that miserably failed back in 2017 as it was heavily introduced for menswear. Bringing the ballet core to its full force with leather belts wrapped around distressed leather, lace and micro mini skirts.

Why have one belt when you can wear two?

Hadid took it to the streets and showed us how to do it, thank you! So one belt is placed into the waistband of the pants, where it is supposed to go, then the other one just like in the 2010’s falls free into the waist without cinching the outfit. The idea is to pair different belts and experiment with textures, colors, prints and buckle sizes. Try heavy hardware against a delicate chain belt, pearls and leather. Infinite combinations to try on pants, jeans, shorts, mini skirts or even dare on a dress?

Belts, usually montones and smaller in size, are used as an integral element in creating minimalistic, elegant and clean looks. Adding another one to he mix ups the look into a more modern, youthful aesthetic.

What do you think about double-belting? In or out?
