All of Beyonce’s Looks from Renaissance Tour Opening Night

On Thursday, May 11, Beyonce opened her 57 show Renaissance World Tour in Stockholm, Sweden. In typical Beyonce fashion, the singer pulled out all the stops for her first solo return to the stage in seven years. She wore custom looks from Balmain, Loewe, Mugler, Alexander McQueen, and more.

Much like the cover of the album, the visuals that Beyonce pulled out for her first performance were chromatic, fantastical, and utterly sexy. And much like the content of the album, the show was steeped in Black feminist pride. The singer performed at least part of 36 songs in a performance that lasted nearly three hours.

She wore a custom Alexander McQueen bodysuit, glittering silver and gold. Typical of Beyonce, the suit emphasized her curves, with exaggerated details around her shoulders and hips.

After that, the singer changed into a custom Courreges bodysuit, this one scantier and brighter, like a chromatic disco ball. Futurism was definitely a theme throughout the performance, and this space age suit and thigh high boots definitely live in the science fiction world Beyonce was creating.

Next, the singer took a dive into the psychedelic, ‘70s disco vibe that permeates through the Renaissance album with a holographic minidress designed by David Koma.

The Loewe look that the pop star wore next has been making the most waves on the internet. While the honey-gold bodysuit was custom made for her, it is reminiscent of a look from the brand’s fall 2022 ready to wear collection. The bodysuit features trompe-l’oeil hand motifs, which Beyonce paired with gloves making her own hands an extension of the suit.

The night took a turn towards science fiction when Beyonce came out in a Mugler bee suit, complete with antennae. The look included a chrome chest plate and a sunglasses/headpiece combo.

The star finished the night in a custom Coperni bodysuit bedazzled like a disco ball, and came out on a chrome horse, similar to her album cover. She paired this look with a billowing silver cape and matching disco gloves. Phew.

With dozens more shows to come between now and September, when the tour wraps up in New Orleans, Queen Bey will definitely give us more surprises, shocks, and memorable moments. Like, is she launching a hair care brand? We are just here to enjoy the ride.
