Nensi Dojaka’s Dreamy Chiffon

London Fashion Week always supports up-and-coming brands and this season we’ve seen many of whom are quickly becoming everyone’s favorites.

Nensi Dojaka, an Albanian designer who founded her label in 2017 while studying at the London College of Fashion has created an eponymous label based on sheer, layered fabrics, deconstructed silhouettes and raw exposed seams.

For her latest SS23 collection Dojaka introduced lace as a connecting thread throughout her collection. The then, femenine fabric was used in skirts, hems, bralettes, tights, body-hugging dresses and ruffles. All which complemented the sequined evening gowns, the lacquer slip dresses, and the micro mini skirts.

Dojaka’s eternal inspiration are flowers and the collection’s materials helped create that wet floral look by having the light reflect off as dew drops on wait petals.

Keeping things wet, the models strided down the runway sporting wet hair and barely-there makeup. Giving off a super fresh and clean vibe that makes the clothes fluidity and structure stand out.

Lace wasn't the only thing Dojaka experimented with this season, she also debuted footwear. Cage leather mules in orange, black and pink with silver crystal studs alluring to the wet effect.

The collections deconstructed, twisted and lingerie-inspired cuts oozed soft femininity balanced with shoulder-dusting metal, Pearl earrings and waist chains by Andre Bunny.

Dojaka’s signature sophisticated sexiness continued to stand out with her refined designs. (Designs that have been heavily copied by mass market copyists) Same designs that revolve around fabric and how they communicate a theme, and taking a close look at the rouleau straps, asymmetrical suspension and delicate trimmings one can see how the quality really sets it apart from the cheap imitations.

All the looks were eye-catching including the show-stopper transparent chiffon evening gowns in beige, black and dark cranberry. Looking ethereal as their trains literally glided against the white floors.
