An ambitious and creative individual, KJ Moody, has reached a point in his career that most celebrity stylists can only dream of. Moody has worked his way up to work with individual clients, as well as companies such as i-D, Epocha, Cosign, INC Magazine, and more. KJ’s passion for the fashion industry stems from his love of providing his clients with confidence in their own individuality. His creative eye allows his work to be seen all across, with his most recent project styling Beyoncé for the opening performance of the Atlantis The Royal in Dubai.

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Moody found his love for fashion at the age of 5, watching his aunt  ,Tina Knowles, design costumes and gowns for Destiny’s Child and Beyoncé. While studying Fashion Design at the Art Institute of Dallas, he began interning for Jeanette Chivvis, a celebrity stylist located in Dallas. He soon started his own styling career as an Editorial and Corporate Stylist. His attention to detail and own high standards allowed him to advance more quickly and more successfully. Research and commitment goes hand in hand when it comes to styling and he constantly tells himself “you can be better, you can do better, and you can work harder” (Interview with Ebony). His biggest influence was Erykah Badu, a woman constantly pushing boundaries. Always evolving, she taught him that being different was okay.

On his most recent project, styling Beyoncé for her Dubai performance, he worked with several designers on creating and styling gowns and looks. Omani designer Rayan Al Sulaimani created a floor-length gown with intricate beading and shards while Lebanese designer Nicolas Jebran created a full-skirted silhouette inspired by royal attire. Working on such a huge project like this performance was extremely gratifying for Moody. This is what real work, diligence, dedication and passion looks like.

In an interview with Chandler Cook, he was asked what his definition of beauty is. “I define beauty as Confidence. I always say confidence is everything! We all have our own definitions of Beauty and Perfection. So instead of trying to fit into others' mold, create your own, and let that confidence peak through!” His joy is seeing other people love fashion like he does. Progression and passion are two qualities he remains grounded in. “There's no greater feeling than seeing you make someone feel good!” (Chandler Cook)

His goals as an artist and above all stylist, is to never stop learning. Staying focussed, grounded, and keeping his eyes open to new ideas is the most important. Being able to inspire like others have inspired him is his number one goal. He knows he is successful when others are inspired by him to style, design, be different, and follow their own dreams.  His comprehension of style is continuously evolving and his career is rapidly progressing forward.
