Telly Goes Jelly

In collaboration with Melissa International, Telfar has launched its signature shopping bag in an all-new material, Jelly!

On July 14th, the brands came together to launch the Telly Jelly transparent bags and slides, and a little over a week later they surprised fans again, announcing the Telly Jelly and matching slides would also be coming in a translucent pink on July 28th. Both drops sold out swiftly as Telfar can be unpredictable and it is not guaranteed these bags will come in stock again. But fans shared excitement in Telfarglobal’s Instagram comments about how the Jelly Telly would make the perfect stadium bag, and many big venues now require a transparent bag for entry.

Jelly has made a comeback, just last year Gucci’s jelly sandals were the shoe of the summer and now brands like Tory Burch, Prada, and Steeve Madden have followed suit. Coach has also released Jelly bags recently in their own fun shades of pink, purple, and green. These styles, in their rubbery material, are similar to the accessories you would get with a doll. Plus they are durable, easy to clean, and perfect for summer water activities like going to the beach or hanging out poolside.

Melissa has been creating all things Jelly since 1979. The brand prides itself on being a vegan brand, developing recyclable and eco-friendly products with low carbon emissions. They collect old Melissa products in store where they can be renewed into new materials for future projects. Melissa is always collaborating with an iconic designer or two. Just this year, they collaborated with Marc Jacobs for their monogram jelly slides as well as Jean Paul Gaultier for a collection of funky jelly platform slides and heels.

Who knows rather this was the last drop of Jelly Tellies, or if Telfar and Melissa have some more colorways up their sleeves? Fans of the brands will have to stay on top of checking Telfar's Instagram page to stay in the loop of what their next drop will be.
