The Best Dressed at the 2022 SAG Awards
For the first time since 2020, the Screen Actors Guild Awards was back in person on Sunday night. Since 1995, the awards show has been celebrating the collaborative art form of acting. The SAG awards brings together the most talented on-screen individuals of the entertainment industry. The industry’s top performers and the award nominees dazzled on the silver carpet. Old Hollywood glam and vintage inspired looks dominated the awards show and paid tribute to the actors and performers of the past.
Lady Gaga’s SAG Awards dress took over the silver carpet. The sequin bodice peaked through the elegant white column gown that was accessorized with a classic Tiffany & Co. diamond necklace. The House of Gucci actress has been wearing exclusively Gucci and other Italian designers to represent her latest work. Gaga’s dress was another Italian designed look from Armani Privé. The dress on its own was stunning, but Gaga’s platinum blonde waves and dramatic cat eye added another dimension to her Golden Age of Hollywood inspired look.

South Korean actress, model, and star of the hit series Squid Game, Hoyeon Jung, made her debut at the SAG Awards, where she won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series. Her sleek black gown with a high split sparkled with silver accents and buttons. The Louis Vuitton dress also gave off some classic Hollywood vibes. Jung’s matching hair ribbon was inspired by her heritage. The ribbon emulated a Korean daenggi, which has been around for centuries as an accessory to braided hair.

Cynthia Erivo attended the SAG awards in a flashy siren red look. Erivo, who portrayed Aretha Franklin in Genius: Aretha, wore a custom red vinyl Louis Vuitton dress with a crimson faux fur cape and accessorized with Tiffany & Co. diamonds. Instead of hints of the classic Hollywood era, this futuristic look made a bold statement on the silver carpet.

Sandra Oh, star of the Netflix comedy The Chair, wore a beautiful silver tiered gown by Carolina Herrera. The iridescent dress featured a deep-V neckline with straps turned bows that hung from her shoulders. Like Cynthia Erivo, Oh took a different path and chose an almost galactic-like style that stunned at the SAG Awards.

SAG Award nominee and presenter, Selena Gomez donned a sophisticated black Oscar de la Renta gown. The voluminous sleeved dress featured a column silhouette and a small front slit. Paired with a Bulgari diamond choker necklace and Louboutin heels, the whole look was giving off hints of the classic Hollywood glam that the whole event honored.

The amazingly talented actress and style icon, Kerry Washington shined in a neon yellow trumpet dress from Celia Kritharioti. Kritharioti is a Greek designer that owns the oldest fashion house in all of Greece, and the dress that Washington wore to the SAG Awards is from her Spring/Summer 2022 collection. The eye-catching dress had a beautiful silhouette that turned heads on the silver carpet.

Another colorful display on the silver carpet was worn by actress Vanessa Hudgens. The seafoam green satin dress had a thigh-high slit accent that revealed the gold platform heels Hudgens wore. The thin strapped Versace gown flowed gracefully along the silver carpet and fit seamlessly on Vanessa Hudgens. Hudgens’ ethereal look was one of the best styles of the 2022 SAG Awards.
