The Bride Looked Radiant as she Cuts the Wedding Cake in a Floral Bikini
Talk about modern brides and no one does it cooler than Rachel Rodgers.
Berlin based stylist, Rodgers, got married this summer under the Italian summer in what was described as a Fellini to the core nuptials. The event that took place in Naples was a complete punk-rock, grunge, romantic dream. Rodgers visual moodboard came to life
A non-traditional looking wedding couldn’t be done without a Vivienne Westwood dress. Westwood is synonymous with having a distinctive personality, strong set of values, modern punk and always breaking the mold. Rodgers in the search for the perfect wedding outfit stumbled upon a 1992 vintage Vivienne Westwood corset with a baby face printed on it at One of a Kind Archive in London. She fell in love and ditched any wedding dress ideas as she paired the corset with a pair of white capri leggings from Clara Colette Miramontes and a Chanel inspired miles-long veil with two bows fixed to the sides. She actually made the veil with the help of her friends and 55 feet of white tulle. The perfect piece to add drama and nuptial-feeling to the final outfit.
Roses were the main motif throughout the nuptials, everywhere was scattered with red rose petals and the bride had set her eyes on wearing a pair of white Loewe heels with thorny down-turned roses from the 2022 collection, a model very hard to find as it is mainly only available in black. Rodgers, being a stylist, would do anything for the perfect look even if it meant wearing a shoe two sizes two big.
After the ceremony it was time for cake, a giant heart shaped 80’s cake in baby pink frost that tied the whole wedding's retro aesthetic perfectly. The perfect maximalist and sugary cake had to be matched with an even more shocking outfit. Rodgers changed from her white punk ensemble into a pink floral camp bikini.
The bride looked radiant in her two piece set by Adriana Hot Couture, the three dimensional floral appliqués were paired with satin baby pink gloves adding a lady-like feeling to the otherwise fun and rebellious look.
A true camp wedding that puts a whole new meaning to modern brides.
It seems like Italy, corsets, printed motifs and punk-rock inspiration is a heavy aesthetic for celebrity vibes as we witnessed Kournet Kardashian's wedding which seemed very similar to Rodgers. Will this become a new trend? Will we see our friends walking down the aisle in sequined leggings and make their way to the reception in bikinis? Personally I am a fan.
