The Latest Marketing Tactic by Jacquemus Took Over the Roads of Paris

Luxury brand Jacquemus has been taking the internet by storm with their latest marketing tactic: Bag Trolley Cars. The brand took to Instagram last week with a video of their Le Bambino bags on the wheels riding through the streets of Paris with the caption, “I THINK I LIKE PARIS NOW.” The bag trolleys came in the colors brown, orange and pink varieties and the roads had the words "Bambino" and "Jacquemus” on them. Although the video was realistic, the brand has stated that the bags are 3-D renderings.

Jacquemus is a brand that is very familiar with unique and viral marketing and PR tactics. This past Paris Fashion Week in March the brand had an immersive pop up at the Galeries Lafayette. The pop up featured a photo booth, a florist, a cafe, various window displays that tied back to their past fashion shows and a section of bags where consumers can look and shop. The shop also housed a big slice of toast with a toaster and washing machines donned in the Jacquemus brand logo. Creative director Simon Porte Jacquemus explained, “As soon as we began working on the project, my aim was to recreate the Jacquemus world and all my visual obsessions through Galeries Lafayette’s iconic display windows. I love the idea that any customer who comes to Galeries Lafayette can enjoy an immersive experience and discover the story of Jacquemus and everything it has to offer.”

Jacquemus is a brand that has grown into an even bigger one from the popularity and virality of their bags. Most recently, their micro Le Chiquito bag has made headlines for how small it is and from various fashion influencers and It - girls wearing it. The bag was launched in 2018 and sparked a growing fanbase inside and outside of the industry for the brand and its bags. The bags are crafted from vegetable - tanned high quality leather that is hand crafted. Now, the industry looks forward to when the brand will be launching new bags. 

Jacquemus is a unique brand because of how they approach marketing and product presentation. They often show their runway shows outside of the official fashion calendar with each show having a unique theme that goes with the particular season and collection that is being featured. Their recent marketing tactic is an example of how the brand uses various marketing tactics in order to get consumers to talk about the brand and to build their brand appeal. It is important in a sea of other brands to be interesting and creative with marketing today, especially with social media. Brands need to be able to create head turning campaigns or marketing ads that can be appealing to every physical and digital platform. Jacquemus is a brand that is doing marketing right.
