The Top 5 Shows from MFW Spring-Summer 2025
Milan Fashion Week SS25 has officially ended, and designers brought their A-game. Although veteran designers showed beautiful collections, Milan was also a place for many newcomers to show their new collections. These are the top five shows from emerging brands at Milan Fashion Week.
Best Women’s Suits of Milan Fashion Week
On a star-studded catwalk, opened by Kendall Jenner and featuring models like Claudia Schiffer, Versace debuted their Spring/Summer 2024 collection in Milan. The house is famous for its bold designs and iconic looks and collections throughout the years making them one of the most well-known Italian designers. Their latest collection featured a variety of suits for both men and women that follow the brand's colorful nature.
Spring 2024 Fashion Week’s Gothic Presence
These past few fashion weeks have been full of surprises like Ralph Laurens's return after a 4-year hiatus and the shift from silver to gold chrome for the coming season. But one style to be present throughout fashion week in various ways is gothic. To my surprise, these elements were frequent by multiple brands in London and Milan. This means alot of black for the Spring 2024 collection aswell as deep hues and intense detailing and accessories.
Ever Heard of Simon Cracker? Thankfully, Now You Have
When I visited Milan I was able to learn about so many new fashion labels that are more European-based and aren’t as available in America. One label that I came across was Simon Cracker, this has to be my favorite brand that I learned about during my time in Europe. Simon Cracker is chaotic, colorful, intriguing, and overall very creative.
Bottega Veneta is Going to Have a Repeat Show for Their F/W 2023 Collection
Although they just shared their Fall/Winter 2023 collection in late February for Milan Fashion Week, Bottega Veneta is returning, but this time in Beijing. The fashion label will be hosting another runway show that not only repeats its collection from February but will also add 20 new looks that are exclusive to the Chinese market.
The New, Old Ferragamo
Maximilian Davis has mastered the art of restraint. In a world of rapid trend cycles and consumers with short attention spans, the fashion world has been turning more frequently to gimmicks; attention grabbing moments that are increasingly dramatic and bizarre. Davis refuses to partake, instead using his sophomore collection at Ferragamo to expand on the brand’s new vision under his direction.
Blumarine Set Itself on Fire
Max Mara Channeled 18th Century Style for their New Collection
Luxury fashion brand Max Mara showed their new collection titled “The Camelocracy” that was inspired by to Émilie du Châtelet, a french female mathematician and philosopher during the 18th century.
Prada and Their Newfound Modesty
With Prada’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection came a lot of modesty, something new that Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons are doing as a tribute to last year’s Prada show.
Moschino’s Nod to Punk
It’s classic, elegant beauty meeting gothic punk. For fall 2023, Jeremy Scott is imbued the punk scene into some of the brand’s signature looks, like tweed suits and tailored pieces.
Gucci Gave the Audience a Lot to Look at During Milan Fashion Week
The new Gucci ready-to-wear F/W 2023 collection debuted at Milan Fashion Week on Friday and was eye-catching. There were many contrasting outfits, some had little fabric to them revealing much of the model’s body and others were covered almost head to toe in a floor-length feathered dress.
